Medical aesthetics and functional medicine for Newport News, VA

Newport News has plenty of aesthetic options. Here is an honest account of why some residents drive past them to a two-provider practice in Williamsburg.

We see Newport News patients at our one location: 1309 Jamestown Rd, Suite 204, Williamsburg, VA 23185

The short version

Newport News is the largest city on the Peninsula and it is not short of places to get injectables. So a page like this owes you a straight answer to the obvious question: why would you drive twenty-five minutes past several closer options?

The honest answer is that it depends what you want. If you know exactly what you want, want it done well, and want it done near your house, a good local injector is a perfectly sensible choice and we would not pretend otherwise.

People drive to us when the question is more complicated than that — when the concern has a medical driver worth investigating, when they want the same two clinicians every visit, or when they have had a result they were not happy with and want an assessment rather than a menu. Those are the cases where a small, nurse practitioner-led practice that also does functional medicine is genuinely a different proposition.

We have one location, in Williamsburg. There is no Newport News office.

Worth the drive

What is actually different here

  1. The medical half is real

We run functional medicine alongside aesthetics — hormones, medical weight loss, metabolic testing, labs. When skin, hair or weight changes have a cause underneath, we can investigate it instead of treating the surface and hoping.

  2. Two providers, both FNPs, both injecting

There is no rotating roster. The clinician who assesses you at the consultation is the one holding the syringe, and the one who sees your result at six weeks.

  3. You will be told no

Consultations here end without a booking more often than is commercially convenient. If a concern needs a surgeon, or needs nothing yet, that is what you will hear. Our guide to choosing a practice sets out the questions worth asking us and everyone else.

  4. Pricing you can see before you arrive

Every treatment page carries a starting price and what it covers. Nothing is quoted only behind a consultation booking, and financing options are published rather than produced at the point of sale.

Getting here

The drive from Newport News

From most of Newport News the drive is twenty-five to thirty-five minutes, depending on where you start. I-64 westbound to exit 242A puts you onto Route 199 and across to Jamestown Road in a few minutes; from Denbigh and the upper end of the city it is closer to twenty-five, and from City Center at Oyster Point or Port Warwick allow the full thirty-five.

Route 60 through Lee Hall is the alternative when I-64 is congested, which around Jefferson Avenue it regularly is. It is not usually faster, but it is more predictable.

The Williamsburg end of the trip is the part worth planning around. Traffic thickens near the Route 199 interchanges in the late afternoon, and the whole town slows on summer weekends. Late morning is the easiest window.

Where to find us: 1309 Jamestown Rd, Suite 204, Williamsburg, VA 23185. Free parking on site. Full directions and hours are on the contact page, or text us at 757-585-4647 if you are running late.

Where our Newport News patients come from

We see patients from across the city — Denbigh, Oyster Point, Port Warwick, Hilton Village, Kiln Creek and the Jefferson Avenue corridor.

The pattern we notice is that Newport News patients tend to arrive for a specific reason rather than for convenience, which is fair enough given the drive. Frequently it is the functional medicine side, or a treatment that needs continuity across a series, or a second opinion on something. If you are making the trip, it is worth booking the longer consultation slot and getting the whole picture assessed rather than one line.
