Working at Colonial
A small, nurse practitioner-led practice in Williamsburg. We hire rarely and carefully, and we would rather wait for the right person than fill a seat.
Who we are
Colonial Aesthetics & Wellness is a medical aesthetics and functional medicine practice on Jamestown Road in Williamsburg, founded and run by two board-certified Family Nurse Practitioners. You can read more about them on the team page.
We were named Early Stage Small Business of the Year by the Greater Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce in 2025, and COVA Best Medspa in 2026. Those are pleasant, but the more useful thing to know about working here is the operating principle underneath them: the person who assesses a patient is the person who treats them, consultations regularly end without a booking, and nobody is measured on conversion.
It is a small team. That means real autonomy and real visibility, and it also means there is nowhere to hide on a difficult day. It suits people who want to do careful work and be known for it.
What the job actually looks like
No weekends
We are closed Saturday and Sunday, and Friday finishes at 1pm. In aesthetics that is unusual, and it is deliberate.
A two-provider practice, not a chain
Decisions get made by the people who own the outcome. There is no regional manager and no corporate treatment quota.
Consultation-first, genuinely
Nobody here is asked to sell a package to someone who does not need it. If that has been your experience of this industry, it is the main thing that is different.
Two disciplines under one roof
Aesthetics and functional medicine in the same practice means the clinical thinking is broader than injectables alone.
Benefits
401(k) with company match
Retirement contributions matched by the practice.
Paid time off
Accrued PTO, plus the closed weekends and short Fridays that come with our schedule anyway.
Continuing education allowance
A budget for training and certification. In aesthetics your skills are the product, and they need maintaining.
Product discount
On the professional skincare lines we carry.
Schedule flexibility
A small team means the rota is a conversation rather than a spreadsheet handed down.
Pay is a mix of salary, hourly and commission, and the balance depends on the role. We will set out exactly how a given position is structured before you interview, rather than at an offer.
Current openings
We do not have a posted opening at the moment.
That is not a closed door. We are a small practice and roles open infrequently and often at short notice, so we do read speculative applications and we do keep them. If you are an experienced injector, an esthetician, or a practice coordinator who has looked at how we work and thinks it fits, write to us.
Tell us what you have actually done rather than what you are passionate about, and tell us why this practice specifically. A short, specific note is worth considerably more than a long general one.
How to apply
Email a CV and a short note to colonialaesthetic@gmail.com with the role in the subject line, or Speculative application if we have nothing posted.
Please do not send patient information, clinical photographs of identifiable patients, or anything covered by a previous employer's confidentiality agreement. If you want to show us your work, bring it to an interview rather than emailing it.
We read everything that arrives. We are a small team, so a reply can take a couple of weeks.
Want to understand how we work first?
The most honest picture of this practice is in how we write about treatment — including the parts where we tell people not to book.
