Functional Medicine Consultation.
A whole-body approach to feeling like yourself again. We start with an unhurried conversation — symptoms, history, the things that haven't been listened to — then order the right labs and build a plan from what we actually find.

60–90 minutes
30 minutes
None — this is a clinical conversation and a blood draw
Many clients notice initial changes within 4–8 weeks of starting their plan
What this conversation actually is.
Functional medicine looks at the body as an interconnected system — hormones, gut, sleep, stress, nutrition, lifestyle — rather than a list of symptoms to be treated in isolation. The consultation is where we sit down with that whole picture for the first time.
If you've been to a string of fifteen-minute appointments where you didn't get to finish your sentences, this will feel different. It's a 60–90 minute clinical intake with our medical team. We go through your history, your current symptoms, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping would feel different. Then we order a comprehensive bloodwork panel so the plan we build is grounded in your numbers, not a generic protocol.
Common things we hear at the consult. Not a checklist — just the patterns that show up most often. You don't need all of these; you don't need any specific one. If something on this list sounds like you, the consult is a place to start.
What a personalized plan may include. No two plans look the same — yours depends on what your history, symptoms, and labs actually show. The pieces below are the tools we work with most often. Each links to its own page if you want to look ahead.Bioidentical Hormone TherapyClinician-led hormone optimization for perimenopause, menopause, andropause, post-pregnancy and thyroid shifts.Medical Weight ManagementA medically supervised program — GLP-1 medication, labs, lifestyle support, and monthly clinical check-ins.IV TherapyTargeted nutrient infusions for hydration, energy, immune support, recovery, and clinically indicated deficiencies.B12 & Wellness InjectionsIn-and-out injections for energy and metabolism support between bigger visits, where clinically appropriate.A plan might include one of these · a combination · lifestyle changes alone · or a referral elsewhere if that's the right call.
On insurance — said plainlyFunctional medicine consultations and most of the treatments that follow from them are not covered by insurance. We mention this up front so the bill is never a surprise. Many clients use HSA or FSA funds, and we can provide superbills for you to submit on your own where applicable. What you get for the fee is time — real, unhurried clinical time — and a plan that's yours.
What to expect.
Before
When you book, we'll send a short intake form so we're not spending your consult time on basic logistics. Bring a current list of medications and supplements, any recent labs you have access to, and — if you can — a few minutes of thought about what you'd want to feel different in six months. There's no preparation beyond that. Come as you are.
During
60 to 90 minutes with our medical team. We go through history, current symptoms, prior workups, lifestyle, and goals — at the pace the conversation actually needs, not the pace the schedule dictates. We'll order a comprehensive bloodwork panel based on what we hear, and we'll explain what each marker is meant to show. No prescription is written at the consult itself; the plan comes after we have the labs in hand.
After
Labs typically come back within 1–2 weeks. We'll review them with you in a follow-up visit and build the plan together — which may include hormone therapy, weight management, IV nutrient support, supplements, lifestyle work, or referrals where appropriate. From there, follow-ups are 30 minutes, scheduled at the cadence the plan needs. You'll have a clinician you can reach between visits if something doesn't feel right.
Who it's for
Who it's for.
- Clients who feel something is off but haven't gotten satisfying answers from conventional workups
- Clients in or approaching perimenopause, menopause, or andropause and ready to talk about it clinically
- Post-pregnancy hormonal shifts that aren't resolving on their own
- Clients whose energy, sleep, mood, weight, or cognition has changed and they want to understand why
- Clients optimizing for performance, recovery, or long-term wellness, not only treating a problem
- Anyone who'd rather start with labs and a real conversation than with a prescription
Who should hold off or check with us.
- Acute or emergency symptoms — those need urgent care or your primary doctor first, not a future consult
- Clients seeking a specific prescription on day one without a clinical workup — we don't operate that way
- Anyone hoping functional medicine will replace, rather than complement, primary care (see FAQ below)
- Pregnancy or active breastfeeding for certain treatments downstream — we can still consult; some tools are off the table
- Clients not ready to engage with labs, lifestyle factors, or ongoing follow-up — that's the whole approach
If you're unsure, ask us — we'll go through your history during your consult.
Treatments that pair well with this one.

Bioidentical Hormone Therapy
Hormonal shifts are one of the most common threads in functional medicine plans. BHRT is clinician-led, lab-informed, and monitored over time.

Medical Weight Management
When weight is part of the symptom picture, a supervised program — medication, labs, lifestyle, and monthly check-ins — runs alongside the broader plan.

IV Therapy
Targeted nutrient and hydration support for clients whose labs reveal deficiencies or for those building recovery into a broader plan.

The consultation is where the listening happens — 60 to 90 minutes with our medical team, comprehensive labs, and a plan built from what we actually find. If we don't think functional medicine is the right path for you after we talk, we'll say so and point you somewhere better.
