What it actually does.
Laser hair reduction targets pigment in the hair follicle with pulses of light. The light heats and disables follicles in their active growth phase. Because only some of your hair is in that phase at any given time, multiple sessions spaced out over months are needed to catch the full cycle.
We sell as 6-session packages because that's what works for most clients. Some hair (especially hormonal patterns) needs touch-ups beyond that — we'll talk through that expectation up front rather than after.
Honest framing: we call it 'reduction,' not 'removal.' Most clients see a lasting 70–90% reduction in treated areas, though results vary with hair type and hormones. Hormonal areas (face, chin, lower abdomen) may need ongoing maintenance.
Skin tone matters for laser. Our laser system handles a wider range of Fitzpatrick types than older systems, but we screen carefully and walk through risks for darker skin tones in consult.
What to expect.
Before
Shave the area 24 hours before your appointment — do not wax or pluck (laser needs the follicle). Avoid sun exposure and self-tanner for 2 weeks. No retinoids on treated areas for 5 days.
During
We apply cooling, then pass the laser handpiece across the area in measured bursts. Each pulse feels like a brief warm snap. Sessions range from 15 minutes (lip) to 60 minutes (full legs).
After
Avoid direct sun, hot tubs, saunas, and aggressive workouts for 48 hours. Sunscreen religiously on treated areas going forward. Hair will shed gradually over the next 1–3 weeks.
