The treatment

Two intensities, one decision.

CO2 laser is one of the most studied resurfacing technologies in aesthetics. It uses precisely calibrated energy to ablate damaged surface skin and trigger collagen renewal in the deeper layers. The result is a meaningful step-change in skin quality — but the downtime and the intensity vary by how aggressively we set the device.

We offer two protocols. CoolPeel is a 'light' fractional CO2 treatment with 1–2 days of downtime per session, run as a series of 3 spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Fractional Ablative is a deeper, single-session treatment with 3–10+ days of downtime done every 6–12 months. They're different commitments and different result profiles — the choice is the whole point of this page.

Skin-tone safety: CO2 laser carries hyperpigmentation risk for deeper Fitzpatrick skin types. We screen carefully and may recommend Morpheus8 or non-light-based alternatives where appropriate.

What to expect.

Before

Skip retinoids and acids for 5 days. No active sun exposure for 4 weeks. We may pre-treat with topical lightening agents for darker skin tones. Plan post-treatment time off before booking Fractional Ablative.

During

Topical numbing for 30–45 minutes. Treatment uses repeated passes of the device across the area. CoolPeel feels like warm pinpricks; Fractional Ablative is more intense and may require additional comfort measures.

After

CoolPeel: 1–2 days pinkness, mild flaking, public-facing again quickly. Fractional Ablative: 3–10+ days — pink, swelling first 2 days, peeling days 3–7, sensitivity 2 weeks. SPF religiously for months.
