The treatment

Made for your skin, not for a shelf.

DermLux is our own line of compounded topicals. Compounding means each formula is prepared to a prescription rather than mass-produced — so the actives, the strengths and the base are chosen for one person's skin instead of averaged across everyone who might pick a jar off a shelf.

That is also why these are prescription-strength. The actives in DermLux sit above what a retail product is permitted to contain, which is precisely what makes them effective — and precisely why a provider has to assess your skin, your history and what you are already using before we dispense anything. Used without that assessment, the same strength that works becomes the strength that irritates.

The formulas are deliberately simple: active ingredients, a clean base, and nothing added for fragrance, colour or shelf appeal. Every jar is made locally in Williamsburg, labelled for you, and dispensed in the office. We do not sell DermLux online, and we do not ship it.

The line

Each is built around a different job. We choose the one that fits your skin — and the strength within it — at your consult.

DermLux formulas

Copper peptide

DermLux

Built around GHK-Cu, a copper tripeptide studied for its role in skin repair and collagen support. The gentlest of the four, and the one that pairs most easily alongside other treatment.

Exfoliating acid blend

DermLux Clear

Salicylic, azelaic and glycolic acids together — a blend aimed at congestion, uneven texture and the redness that often travels with breakouts.

Brightening blend

DermLux Pigment

Tranexamic acid, kojic acid and alpha arbutin — a combination approach to melasma, sun damage and post-inflammatory pigment.

Concentrations are set per prescription and printed on your label. We confirm the right formula, strength and routine at your consult — starting lower and building is normal.

What to expect.

The consult

A provider looks at your skin, your history, and what you are already using — including anything that would conflict. If a DermLux formula fits, we say which one and why. If retail skincare would do the job, we will tell you that too.

Compounded and dispensed

Your formula is made locally in Williamsburg and labelled for you. You collect it in the office, and we go through how to apply it, how often to start, and what the first two weeks should feel like.

Follow-up

Prescription-strength actives need adjusting. We check in on tolerance and results, and change the strength or the cadence rather than leaving you to push through irritation.

Who it's for

Who it's for.

  • Anyone who has plateaued on retail-strength skincare
  • Persistent acne, congestion, or breakout-related redness
  • Melasma, sun damage, or post-inflammatory pigment
  • Skin that needs repair support alongside in-office treatment
  • Anyone who would rather one considered formula than a shelf of products

Who should hold off or check with us.

  • Pregnant or nursing — tretinoin is contraindicated in pregnancy, and we will formulate around it or wait
  • Active eczema, rosacea flares, or broken skin at the application site
  • Anyone recently treated with a resurfacing laser or peel — we will time it
  • Known sensitivity to any active in the formula
  • Anyone who cannot commit to daily SPF, which these all require

If you're unsure, ask us — we'll go through your history during your consult.

Start with a skin consult.

We will look at your skin, talk through what you are already using, and tell you honestly whether a DermLux formula is the right step — or whether something simpler would do the job.
