Pre-Treatment Considerations

One month of retinol pre-treatment is recommended.

Stop acne treatments, bleaching/brightening ointments, irritant serums, AHA/BHA acids, and retinol 10-14 days before treatment.

Come to the appointment with clean skin. No lotions or serums on areas to be treated.

What to Expect
-
Redness, stinging, itching, mild swelling, flaking, and peeling are expected and will vary for each person.

Peeling typically begins 2-3 days after treatment and ends around day 5-7.

Post Peel Instructions
Day of Treatment
-
Do not wash your face.
-
Apply a thin layer of hydrating cream throughout day, as needed.
Day After Treatment
-
Wash your face with a gentle cleanser in the morning.
-
Apply the entire packet of the retinol and a thin layer of the hydrating cream.
-
Apply sunscreen and continue to wear daily until fully healed.
-
You may still notice a yellow tint to the skin on the first day.
Days 2-5

Continue to wash with a gentle cleanser.

Your skin will feel dry, tight, and begin to peel.
Avoid
-
Avoid rubbing, scratching, or peeling/picking the skin with fingers. If needed, use scissors to clip hanging skin.

Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds to treated areas until healed (we recommend this indefinitely to maximize results). Daily broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 is vital to maintain your improved skin.

Avoid alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), benzoyl peroxide, retinoids, and other potentially irritating products until skin is healed.

Avoid running water directly on your face while showering, strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, and sweating until skin is healed.
