Botox + Dysport

Neuromodulators work by temporarily relaxing the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles, such as frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead creases. By smoothing out these expression lines, neuromodulator injections help to create a more refreshed appearance. Determining the amount of Botox or Dysport needed is a personalized process and will vary depending on facial structure, muscle strength, the severity of the wrinkles, treatment frequency, and the desired outcome. Some clients may want a more natural look and require fewer units, while others may want a more dramatic transformation and require more units.

Best for softening and smoothing fine expression lines and wrinkles.

FAQs

Can I go back to work after my treatment?

Yes, you can return to your daily routine immediately after you leave our office.

When will I see results?

The effects of Botox and Dysport begin to appear in a few days, peak in four weeks, and then gradually decline for three to four months. Please wait a full 14 days before requesting a touch-up, if needed.

How long do results last?

Typically, you can expect results to last 3–4 months.

How do Botox and Dysprot work?

Botox is a neuromuscular blocking agent, which causes paralysis of the injected muscle by preventing the release of acetylcholine from motor nerve terminals. The muscle strengthens again as the nerves regenerate.

When should I start getting Botox?

This is a personal decision; however, we recommend starting Botox or Dysport as soon as you start seeing static lines or wrinkles at rest.

What’s the difference between Botox and Dysport?

Botox and Dysport are both purified proteins that effectively block muscle contraction, although each has slight differences in their molecular makeup. Botox and Dysport accomplish the same goal, so it’s just a matter of personal preference.

Can I get Botox or Dysport while pregnant or breastfeeding?

No, neuromodulator injections should not be used in pregnancy or when breastfeeding.

Post-Treatment Instructions

  • Try to use the injected muscles for the first 1-2 hours after treatment: practice frowning, raising your eyebrows, and squinting. This helps work the neurotoxin into your muscles.

  • Do not rub the injected sites for 4 hours following treatment.

  • Avoid exercise and sweating on the day of treatment.

  • Do not lie down 4 hours after treatment.

  • There can be a slight chance of bruising at the treated site, which will resolve within a few days. Any tiny bumps will go away within a few hours of treatment.

  • Avoid any type of facial, microdermabrasion, or massage for 14 days after treatment.

  • Acetaminophen is okay for post-treatment discomfort.

  • The results of your treatment will take 14 days to take full effect. If a touch-up is needed 14 days post-treatment, contact our office to schedule an appointment.
