Preparing for a big event? Here's your beauty treatment timeline.

Preparing for a major event requires more than just choosing the right treatments; it's also about timing them perfectly to ensure you look and feel your absolute best. Planning your beauty treatments well ahead of your event can make all the difference. It allows you to space sessions properly for optimal results, while also minimizing risks of irritation, redness, or other unintended side effects. Below are some tips and timelines to ensure you're fully prepared for your special day:

Skincare Regimen

Introducing new skincare products requires time for your skin to adjust. We're all familiar with the initial breakouts and flakiness that can occur. Most medical-grade products need 6-8 weeks for your skin to acclimate, especially those containing retinol. Starting retinol early ensures your skin adjusts and begins benefiting your complexion in time for your event.

Neuromodulators For fresh Botox, schedule your first treatment approximately 4 weeks prior to your event. Bruising can persist for up to 14 days, so it's best to avoid injections within two weeks of your big day.

Dermal Fillers

Aim to have fillers done a month or more before your event to allow bruising and swelling to subside.

Microneedling It's recommended to start microneedling treatments at least 4-6 months before your event. Collagen production takes months to peak, with ongoing improvements. Ideally, undergo two to three microneedling sessions before your event to enhance collagen production and refine your complexion.

Sculptra

Sculptra, a biostimulator, works gradually, stimulating collagen production over 18-24 months. Starting this process earlier allows for optimal results to manifest by the time of your big event.

Now, let's organize this into a practical timeline:

9-12 MONTHS BEFORE EVENT

  • Consultation for skincare plan and treatment schedule

  • Start retinol if not already using

  • Establish a consistent skincare routine

  • Consider Sculptra

5-6 MONTHS BEFORE EVENT

  • Continue daily skincare routine

  • Consider:

  • Trying Botox if new to neuromodulators

  • Laser hair removal

  • Dermal fillers

  • Morpheus8 series for face and/or body

  • IPL "photofacial"series

1-3 MONTHS BEFORE EVENT

  • Continue daily skincare routine

  • Schedule Botox 4-6 weeks prior

  • Consider

    • Moderate-strength chemical peel

    • Weekly lipo-mino injections

7-14 DAYS BEFORE EVENT

  • Consider
