Sculptra
Sculptra is designed to restore age-related volume loss in areas like the cheeks, temples, and chin. Even after the injections are complete, it continues to stimulate collagen, with results lasting up to two years. Gradually, it improves skin laxity and texture, leading to naturally younger-looking skin.

Best for individuals looking for gradual, subtle improvements for volume loss, skin laxity, fine lines, and wrinkles -- rather than immediate, dramatic changes.

FAQs
How does Sculptra work?
Sculptra can be injected directly or used with microneedling. Once beneath the skin, the PLLA particles start stimulating collagen — a protein that provides structural support to the skin. Gradually, this increased collagen production improves skin laxity, texture, firmness, and volume.

What is the difference between Sculptra and filler?
Sculptra and fillers both address volume loss, but they work differently. Sculptra stimulates collagen production deep within the skin, gradually restoring volume and improving skin texture over time. This collagen buildup takes place over the first eight weeks following treatment, with results that can last up to two years. On the other hand, hyaluronic acid fillers provide immediate volume, smoothing out wrinkles and enhancing facial contours right away. This makes fillers an excellent choice for those seeking quicker results. Depending on the type of filler used and the injection site, results typically last from 6 months to 1.5 years.

How do Sculptra injections and microneedling with Sculptra differ?
Microneedling with Sculptra is effective for enhancing skin texture and providing mild volume restoration, but it is not as effective as direct injections for significant volume loss and contouring. Direct injections of Sculptra are preferred when the goal is to achieve more substantial and long-lasting improvements in facial volume and structure. Depending on your specific goals, your provider may recommend one approach over the other, or a combination of both.

What areas can be treated with Sculptra?
Sculptra can be injected in areas of the face with lost volume, including the temples, preauricular area, cheeks, chin, jawline, neck, and chest.

How many Sculptra treatments do I need?
The number of treatments can vary depending on your skin’s needs, but we typically recommend 2-4 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart for best results.

What is the downtime of Sculptra injections?
You may experience some redness, swelling, bruising, and soreness after your treatment. These side effects commonly last 1-3 days. We recommend scheduling injectables around your work and social schedule.

When can I wear makeup?
Makeup can be worn 24 hours after treatment.

How long does it take to see results?
Sculptra works by stimulating collagen, and that collagen needs time to build! You’ll start seeing volume increase gradually (6-8 weeks after initial injections), and you’ll continue to see results the first year after injections.

How long do results last?
Up to two years.

Does it hurt?
Topical numbing cream can be applied 30 minutes before appointment to minimize discomfort.

Can Sculptra be done while pregnant or breastfeeding?
We recommend receiving clearance from your OB/GYN if pregnant or while breastfeeding.
